Why did you choose a meter and injections?

I had a bad experience with a pump after 8 years of use, and found injections to be more helpful with my lifestyle.

What are the trade-offs of using a meter and injections?

I REALLY don't like the idea of something stuck to my body. I like the relatively low profile that pen injections have, and do not mind the more manual steps it involves- but realize it is not totally intuitive.

Diabetes devices can produce a lot of information and numbers. How do you feel about this? What do you do with all the data?

As it is, I track everything in a phone app. I don't review the data much, but the practice of it keeps me disciplined in my diabetes control.

These are my devices.
How do you respond to people when they notice or comment on your devices?

As a matter of fact. It's an unavoidable part of me.

How do you make the devices comfortable on your body?

I carry them either in pockets or a messenger bag with snacks and other things I may need for a typical day.

What helps you trust your devices?

I'm on injections and a meter... I don't completely trust technology, or at least where it is today. Part of that is understanding that the technology isn't perfect, and realizing where its shortcomings are.

What would you tell someone considering this same combo and deciding if it is worth the money?

The meter is easy to get, and injections are low maintenance.

What challenges do you have and how have you overcome them?

I carry lots of supplies as far as test strips, alcohol swabs, and pen needles, and make sure I always have them with me. Sometimes I prepare extra kits for specific things like road trips or longer runs.
