Resumen

The Medtronic pump 630G/670G/770G is covered by most insurance and has the ability to communicate with a Contour meter.

The Beta Bionics iLet system is the first and only automated insulin delivery system that determines 100% of all insulin doses and requires very little input from the user. The iLet Bionic Pancreas consists of a tubed insulin pump, a Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitor (CGM), and a connected smartphone or reader. To start, the user is required to enter their weight. The pump's algorithm can automatically make adjustments to insulin dosing after entering glucose targets and details about the meal.

*Recently FDA approved.

Consideraciones del paciente

Confort

Largest tubed pump. Small patch called an infusion set consists of a complete tubing system that attaches to the body. Tubed pumps have the most infusion sets to pick from.

Low profile. Low profile/low maintenance sensor. Small tubed pump with many infusion sets to pick from.

Estilo de Vida Activo

Exercise modeOptional settings for exercise to adjust treatment ranges for activity with the press of a button. Pump is not waterproof.

No exercise mode. Pump will continue to increase or decrease insulin dosing in response to changing CGM glucose levels as usual. Pump is water resistant for up to 12 feet for 30 minutes.

Evitar los Altibajos

Precise dosing. Pumps allow different amounts of basal insulin at different times of day and very precise dosing.

Auto basal and bolus insulin. Responds to CGM data by increasing or decreasing basal insulin delivery to prevent highs and lows and maintain a target blood glucose. Bolus correction controller is available to correct high blood sugar.

Fácil de Usar

Battery required. Pump has button navigation and requires AA battery.

Easiest to Use. User weight is the only input required to start using the insulin pump. No carb counting. No correction factor. No insulin to carb ratio. No basal rate.

Fácil Dosificación de Insulina

Customizable dosing. Bolus calculator available to help figure out doses. Basal and bolus in 0.025 increments.

Meal announcement controller. No carb counting required. User is required to “announce” a meal to the system or tell the iLet they are having a meal. Algorithm will then figure out how much insulin is needed and adapt as the system is used more. Maxiumim insulin meal doses are 24 U. Even when you use the "Meal Announcement," your blood glucose levels could rise above 250 mg/dl for a few hours. You’ll need to be comfortable letting the iLet regulate your blood glucose.

Menos Pinchazos en Los Dedos

Frequent finger-sticks are required.

Factory-calibrated sensor. Fingersticks needed for backup only.

Privacidad

Somewhat discreet. Largest pump with visible tubing. Can be clipped to clothing or placed in a pocket to be discreet when needed.

Discreet. Ability to check blood sugar on phone or watch. Minimal pump interaction is required. Pump has tubing but can be clipped to clothing or placed in a pocket to be discreet when needed. Dexcom's built-in hypoglycemia safety alarm alerts users when glucose is below 55 mg/dl and is always on.
